What is Gallup CliftonStrengths finder?

Gallup CliftonStrengths Finder is an online psychological assessment built on a 40-year study of human strengths and positive psychology.  It created a language of the 34 most common talents and is used worldwide to enable people to build self-awareness of their natural talents followed by coaching to develop talents into strengths.  19+ million people have completed the CliftonStrenghts assessment since the strengths movement was launched in 2001.  It all begun when Donald O. Clifton, Ph.D. psychologist and business executive (1924-2003) asked the following question:

“What will happen when we think about what is right with people rather than fixating on what is wrong with them?”

How does the Gallup CliftonStrengths online assessment work?

You will receive a link, code and instructions for completing the assessment.  You will need to allow up to 45 minutes of uninterrupted time to instinctively answer 177 questions.  Your responses will be analysed and reports produced to reveal your Top 5 talents or your CliftonStrengths 34 which reveals your complete strengths profile.

How do I access my results and strength reports?

The instructions you receive will walk you through the set up of a personal user name and password for the Gallup website.  You can access your results through your personal username within 30 minutes of completing the tests.

What reports will I receive?

Reports will depend on whether you have been assessed for your Top 5 Talents or CliftonStrengths 34 your complete strengths profile.  Reports include:

  • Signature Themes Report (top 5) a report outlining your top 5 talents and the common language used to describe them
  • Strengths Insight Report (top 5) a customised report about what makes you stand out when compared to millions of people Gallup have studied
  • Strengths Insight and Action-Planning Guide (top 5) a customised report as described above as well as 10 action ideas against each of your top 5 talents that you can select as part of your development plan
  • Theme Sequence Report (all 34) shows your top talents and lesser talents in ranked order.
Next Generation Leader

Do you provide In-house Programmes for Next Generation Leader?

Yes, the Next Generation Leader is also delivered in-house with a maximum of 12 participants. It is a great way to accelerate the leadership capacity of women and create visible impact within your organisation.

Will you consider customising Next Generation Leader if we run it as an in-house programme?

We are open to discuss customisation.  Some organisations want to reflect their organisation’s purpose, culture and alignment with strategy within our content to better enable the success of their internal leadership development strategy.  We will work with our clients to meet this need.

Costs would be provided after an initial discovery call.

Executive Offerings

How long does the millennial workshop or customised millennial workshops run for?

This is dependent on the level of customisation an organisation seeks to build into the development programme.  A four hour session or a full day session are most common.

How did you develop Women Step Forward leadership programmes?

The current state of the leadership pipeline where women are not well represented to take on future leadership roles and worldwide generational trends were a key focus for Women Step Forward.  By 2020 millennials will be the biggest workforce on the planet. We are shifting our focus and our development to our young wahine – the next generation of women leaders.

Women Step Forward worked with a sample of incredibly diverse women millennials aged between 20-37 years old during our design process.  These talented women offered critical insight in to who they are, what they are not able to access in the work place and what they need to participate in our leadership pipeline.  We also engaged organisational leaders for their perspectives on what support they need to lead this pool of talent.

We are confident our programmes with hit the mark and that Women Step Forward and our expanding community of like minded women offers the next generation of women leaders a place to call home.
