No! I will work with your strengths, and if being in “the here and now” and only looking one year out is what you are talented at, then that is what you will work with. Others may be able to see a 5-year goal and work towards that. We all have our different strengths and ways of working. Neither is wrong, and my course allows for both.
Being humble is a huge part of who I am. I find advocating for myself very difficult.
I have worked with women from many cultures and ethnic backgrounds, including running focus groups to learn as much as I can about what drives some of your behaviours and beliefs. I do not claim to have lived experience, but I do understand the tension you need to navigate of being humble but ensuring you are valued and being paid your worth.
